Tana Ramsay and Amy Verner - this Wednesday

Home Made Wednesday, November 19th, 6:30 pm at the Heleconian Club
Tana Ramsay - Home Made
'Behind every great man is an equally talented woman.' Nothing beats the taste and comfort of real home made food. Her recipes are a perfect combination of traditional flavours and modern twists, and are divided into 12 ingredient-led sections for ease of reference, including Chicken, Lamb, Pizzas and Chocolate. Beautifully illustrated throughout, highlights include succulent lemon chicken stew, crispy roast pork with haricot beans, Pancetta & thyme, lazy bubble & squeak and a seriously chocolatey Chocolate soufflé cake with cherries and mascarpone. This is the perfect cookbook for anybody who wants to cook great food every day.

Dolce VitaThursday November 20th, 5:30 to 7pm
David Rocco - David Rocco's Dolce Vita
This is the classic story of a young lad being drawn to his grandmothers, the nonne on summer trips to Italy. A debt of gratitude to them as they have inspired a love of simple Italian food in Rocco. Lavish photography make you want to hop on the next plane!

The Ferran Adrià Event

Chef-patron of elBulli restaurant visited Toronto October 8

Ferran Adria & Alison FryerThe event with Ferran Adria was thrilling for a number of reasons. Obviously meeting anyone who is at the top of his field always generates excitement. Ferran was an interesting mix of a person who has to control his environment -- witness the last minute change of format -- yet still manages to seem somewhat bemused to find himself the most revered culinary figure of his generation.
