First Impression of My New Book

I have finally received the first copy of my new book and it looks spectacular! The red and black cover has kind of an art deco feel about it, which is one of my favourite design eras and the touch of blue from the gas stove livens it all up. I hope you'll love the cover as much as I do.

This book is a new direction for me--it explores a year in my life and the life of my family and friends. Written seasonally by the month, I explore techniques and ingredients which are available and appropriate to that time of year. You'll also find 3 or 4 menus for each month, which range from really easy (The Harried Shopper's Dinner, for example) to elegant and sophisticated (such as April in Paris).

Another bit of great news is that because of the confidence my publishing company, Random House, has in the book they will also be releasing it in the US. This will be the first of my books to be sold there. The other day, I looked at Amazon.com and the Barnes & Noble catalogue and there it was--it was so exciting!

The book itself won't be available until October 13th, so we'll all have to wait a little longer but I hope it will appeal sufficiently to everyone to make it a bestseller! It's always been my fantasy to appear once on a bestseller list. Although my books have done very well and won lots of awards it hasn't happened yet. Secretly, I have my fingers crossed that this will be the first one.
